In addition to classroom learning, the Faculty of Business Administration – International Economics (FAIE) consistently provides students with opportunities to visit enterprises and gain practical knowledge. On November 21, 2022, Marketing students participated in a field study at Mega Market supermarket under the guidance of their lecturers. This activity aimed to equip students with real-world insights related to the Fundamental Marketing course.
According to the lecturer’s requirements, students were divided into groups, with each group assigned to study a specific product shelf. The groups were required to analyze the following aspects:
The products displayed in the assigned section
The arrangement and display methods on the shelves
Pricing presentation methods
Promotional policies applied
Availability of sales consultants
Personal recommendations and evaluations
These were the key components for each group to produce a video report and present their perspectives.
Such activities provide valuable opportunities for students to shift from a classroom setting to a real business environment. During the process, students applied theoretical knowledge to practical business situations. Beyond academic content, they also developed observation skills, product arrangement analysis, presentation abilities, critical thinking, and video production skills to support marketing activities for products or businesses.
