Workshop: “AI in E-Commerce: From Trends to Practical Applications”

On April 4, 2026, the Faculty of Information Technology at Lac Hong University hosted a workshop titled “AI in E-Commerce: From Trends to Practical Applications.” The event welcomed faculty members, students, and representatives from leading enterprises in the e-commerce sector.

The workshop served as a forum for academic and practical exchange, helping learners stay ahead of emerging technological trends—specifically the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into online business operations. Key discussion topics included consumer behavior analysis, digital content optimization, automated storefront management on e-commerce platforms, and enhancing administrative efficiency and customer outreach in digital environments.

Overview of the workshop: “AI in E-commerce: From Trends to Practical Applications”

Throughout the program, guest speakers shared updated insights into the evolution of e-commerce within the context of digital transformation. They analyzed the increasingly vital role of AI in helping businesses optimize workflows and sharpen their competitive edge. Presentations were highly practical, allowing students to easily grasp concepts and visualize their future professional environments.

Beyond the theoretical sessions, the workshop featured hands-on activities at the E-commerce Lab—a dedicated learning and practice space designed specifically for e-commerce training. Here, under the guidance of instructors and industry experts, students directly participated in: Setting up and managing professional sales livestreams, operating specialized livestreaming equipment, practicing digital content creation, gaining insights into the deployment of online business models.

These practical exercises helped students consolidate their knowledge while honing professional skills, significantly improving their readiness for the labor market’s real-world requirements. Incorporating these practical models into the curriculum reflects the "learning by doing" philosophy, effectively bridging the gap between theory and practice.

A notable highlight of the program was a guest session featuring Ms. Nguyen Phuong Thanh (Miss University Peace Vietnam 2025) and the 4th runner-up, Tran Thi Thu Huygen. They provided practical perspectives on the rise of KOL/KOC (Key Opinion Leaders/Key Opinion Consumers) in e-commerce. Their sharing focused on building personal brands in digital spaces, content creation skills, and community engagement. This provided students with a broader awareness of diverse skill sets—not only in technology but also in communication and personal image development.

Through this workshop, students not only updated their specialized knowledge but also gained access to a professional practice environment. This contributes to enhancing their technological application capabilities and vocational skills in the rapidly evolving e-commerce landscape.

This activity is a core component of the Faculty of Information Technology's strategy to strengthen the link between education and industry practice. Furthermore, organizing academic programs combined with real-world experiences demonstrates the University's ongoing investment in E-commerce—a field with high human resource demand and immense potential for future growth.

Looking forward, the Faculty of Information Technology plans to continue implementing academic activities, corporate partnerships, and practical training models to further enhance educational quality and meet the increasing demands of the digital era labor market.
