Cooperation meeting between LHU and Guilin University of Technology

The Office of International Affairs on April 24, 2024 organized a cooperation meeting between LHU and Guilin University of Technology (GUT).

The GUT side was represented by Mr. Quan Kelin, Dean of Faculty of International Education cum Director of Office of International Affairs; Mr. Mo Wen Sheng, Deputy Head of Office of Student Affairs. From the LHU's side, there were M.A Hoang Tien Dung – Deputy Head of Office of International Affairs; MSc. Van Dinh Vy Phuong – Dean of Faculty of Information Technology; MA. Phan The Anh - Head of Department of Chinese Language; MA. Nguyen Thi Mai Phuong - Academic affairs staff cum Secretary of Faculty of Civil Engineering and related staff.

GUT, founded in 1956 is situated in Guilin City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Guilin is one of China’s most popular tourist destinations. Its landscape is also known as "the best mountain and river in the world". GUT currently consists of 4 institutes, 6 academies, 8 faculties, 82 undergraduate programmes, 35 postgraduate programmes, attracting nearly 40,000 students. The University offers multiple disciplines with its Engineering as the key programmes.

LHU and GUT have signed a MoU and implemented initial cooperation and exchange programs since 2019. Accordingly, 46 Chinese Language majors attended summer camps and short-term internships at GUT in 2019.

At the meeting, the two universities discussed cooperation opportunities on 3+2 Engineering training programs. The two sides also agreed to continue implementing summer and internship programs for Chinese Language students at GUT this summer. Students who participate in the summer programs will receive discounts on tuition and dormitory fees, but still be ensured to have the best experience when studying abroad in Guilin, China.
